What Are Fine Art School portraits?

A simple, modern portrait designed to capture authentic expressions. No “say cheese” here. I strive to create an atmosphere that is relaxing and fun. By simply engaging each child in conversation, with a joke or maybe even a song I elicit a genuine expression . This method of photography allows for natural expressions to be captured in a portrait that is timeless.

What should my child wear on portrait day?

In general, it is a good idea to avoid neon colors, large logos, typography and character prints on shirts. However, if you child’s favorite shirt has Mickey Mouse on it and you want to have a photo of them in their favorite shirt, by all means, send them to picture day in their Mickey shirt. Clothing that accentuates eye color or with detail around the collar and/or shoulders is great. Headbands, hair bows, clips and other accessories are welcome. The background will be white.

When will our photos be ready?

At the conclusion of my time photographing the kids at school I edit all the best images and load them into an online gallery. Each child usually has 3-10 photos, sometimes more in their gallery. The gallery is usually ready to send out to parents 3-4 weeks after photos are taken. You will receive an email with a link to view your child’s images and purchase prints and/or digital files.

Photographer may reproduce, use and distribute the photos and images for any personal, business, marketing or studio purpose. Model expressly agrees to release to Photographer any personal or proprietary interest in the photographic materials that result from the session, and agrees that Photographer may showcase, sell, or otherwise distribute photographic materials from the session, including those depicting Model. The Client gives the Photographer permission with respect to photograph the minor described herein. Client hereby certifies that Client is the [parent/legal guardian] of the minor who is subject to the foregoing release. Client certifies that they are acting both individually and on behalf of said minor, Client consents to the execution of the foregoing Release by said minor and the grant of right made therein. The Client warrants that they are the parent or legal guardian of the minor and has full right and authority to grant this consent on behalf of such minor.
